I meet brides in the funniest places.
Amanda runs a non-profit organization called "Gone to Dee Birds." She saves exotic birds that people have 'thrown away' because of various circumstances -- abuse, lack of time, moving, and so forth. Some are adopted out, some are deemed unsuitable and stay there forever.
I once adopted a large white Cockatoo from her previously deemed unadoptable whose behaviour had seemed improved enough to try adoption.
Within several months, he tried to kill me.
And that is how I met Amanda.
But -- exotic birds aside -- Amanda is one of those people who is so photogenic that when you're around her, your camera leaps unbidden out of your bag and into your hand, without her having said so much as a single word about pictures.
So during one of our numerous bird meetings, I found myself sheepishly taking some grab shots of her which were of course stunning! Many months later, even after she had moved out of state, she "found" me once again to do her wedding.
She's as sweet as she is beautiful and her husband is wonderful. I stressed over her ambitious Burney Falls plan until it worked out perfectly -- the very weather seeming to bow to her charm!
